Per Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times Union, the Jacksonville Jaguars are interested in former New England Patriots defensive end Mark Anderson. Drafted in the fifth round of the 2006 NFL draft Anderson played his first four seasons with the Chicago Bears. His first season he registered 12 sacks. He remained with the Bears until 2010 and entered free agency. He was picked up by the Texans the next season for one year. He found success in 2011 when he was picked up by the New England Patriots. During his one year with the Patriots he registered his second best season in his career with 10.0 sacks. He has 34.5 sacks to date in his career 7 forced fumbles and 156 tackles. Given the Jags need for someone to complement Jeremy Mincey he would be a nice acquisition by the Jaguars. If the Jaguars release Aaron Kampman that would free up $4.975 million in cap space for this season not to mention bonus money Kampman is could get.
Anderson has visits with the Titans right now. The Jags have yet to reach out to him but with some of the better DE's getting scooped up they need to pick up the phone soon if they want him.
