Jags release Jerrett Dillard

Sources say that the Jaguars have released Jerrett Dillard. This doesn't come as a surprise to me as the Jags have recently added some UDFA WRs to the 90 man roster. The addition of veteran receivers Lee Evans and Laurant Robinson as well as the drafting of Justin Blackmon (no 5 overall) means there was bound to be some receivers who were going to be cut. Its good the Jags did this early in the off season as it will give Dillard time to find a new team. Dillard was drafted in 2009 from Rice University.

Dillard's release was confirmed by Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times Union. Dillard had been on the bubble since the draft. Other receivers who are on the bubble include Chastin West, Brian Robiskie and Taylor Price who is currently injured for the duration of the off season.
