Jags sign 3rd round punter Anger

Per Adam Schefter of ESPN the Jaguars have signed their third round draft pick Bryan Anger. Terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed. Anger fills a much needed position with for the Jaguars following last years free agent acquisition Matt Turk who was anything but good at the position. He quickly caught the wrath of Jag Nation as fans referred to him as Grandpa Turk. The Jags released Turk before the halfway mark of the season and signed Nick Harris who performed much better. Once the Jags drafted Anger in the third round of the draft Harris was released.

With this most resent signing the only draft pick of the Jaguars that leaves Justin Blackmon the Jags first round pick (5th overall) who has yet to be signed. Schefter reported that a deal is unlikely to come before the start of training camp but, a lot of Jag Nation including myself is hoping that a deal is reached within the next 48 hours as we don't want any one missing any camp time. Yesterday Blackmon pled guilty to a aggrevated DUI charge he got over the summer in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Blackmon was fined $500 dollars and must complete 50 hours of community service.
