More information has been made available to the what happened to Jaguars defensive tackle Terrance Knighton. A police report was made available to WOKV AM 690 around 10:00 am. The report was taken by an off duty JSO officer who was working at Pure that night. The report states that around 1:30am Sunday morning a group of people were escorted out of Pure. due to fighting. Knighton had been injured at that point and allegedly he and his friend were very hard to calm down and at one point threatened to shoot people. It had been confirmed that Knighton had been hit in the face with a liquor bottle. Knighton dove himself t Baptist Hospital for his surgery after his statement had been taken by the officer.
Tania Ganguli the Jaguars beat writer for the Florida Times Union has spoken with Knighton's agent Tony Fleming who said at no point did Terrance initiate the incident nor did he threaten to shoot anyone. Fleming stated that Knighton only tried to intervene to stop the fight. "It wasn't his altercation, it wasn't his argument." is what Fleming told Ganguil. Knighton's injury has been rated as serious by not career threatening or to cause long term damage. The team has stated it will not comment further on this incident until it is ready. The NFL has said it is monitoring the situation but will most likely let the team deal with this internally.
Knighton is known to be a good all around guy. It seems out of character of him to threaten to cause harm to anyone other than on the football field. I will continue to follow this story closely. PS I AM NOT A REPORTER just a huge Jaguars fan.
